Intrusive Airport Security Measures
Many airline passengers and pilots are protesting the use of full-body scans and intrusive physical searches now underway at many U.S. airports. Full-body scanning machines produce a slightly blurred black-and-white image of the passenger’s unclothed body, and if passengers choose not to go through the scanners, they are given intensive pat-downs, which include searches of their inner thighs and buttocks. The organization responsible for airport security, the Transportation Security Administration, says that these procedures are required to prevent terrorist attacks. Are these new airport security measures excessive or necessary?
Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

The current policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” allows gays to serve as long as they don’t speak about or openly display their sexual preferences. Should the military enact guidelines that would allow openly gay men and women to serve our country?
